Buying a health insurance is tricky. But that’s one stage you’re done with after much scrutiny. But, you see, the way forward is not all peaches and cream.
How are you going to manage your health benefits? Do you even know what your health insurance policy entails? We don’t want to overwhelm you with these doubts, but we must because you should know about the ins-and-outs of your health insurance.
And you will, eventually! However, having everything there is to know about your policy, and more importantly, managing them under one roof is the end goal.
If you’ve faced the trials and tribulations of the aforementioned ‘ins-and-outs’, you know that it’s not pretty. And if you haven’t, well, we’d say you’re lucky — for now! But, as always, we’ve come up with a workaround — MediBuddy.
We’ll be splitting-up each section as seen on MediBuddy — after logging in— in this article. If you’d like to find out how to access MediBuddy, you can check this piece out.
Done?
Alrighty, then! Let’s begin!
Policy Coverage
Turning up at a health centre to treat an injury or an illness with your health insurance policy without knowing what it entails is a huge blunder on your part.
What if the sum insured isn’t enough to cover the expenditure? Or worse, what if your policy’s expiration date is up?
Keeping up with your policy details can be a hassle as you have plenty of responsibilities to shoulder. But with MediBuddy, you can view insurer details, sum insured, validity period balance sum insured and download your E-card.
Just click on the ‘Policy Coverage’ tile, choose a scheme (policy), enter policy number and MA ID (Medi Assist Id), hit ‘Search’, and voilà, feast your eyes on everything there is to know about your policy.
Policy List
The ‘Policy List’ tile allows you to look into all the health insurance policies you ever purchased. List all policies on a single page by selecting scheme (policy) and filling details in any of the following fields: policy number, policyholder name, or agent number.
Search Hospitals
You probably know by now that a health insurance policy provides cover at certain network hospitals they’re associated with. But if you were to get treated, finding a hospital by location, alliance, and speciality can be tormenting.
However, MediBuddy can come to your rescue by letting you filter hospitals by:
- Location
- Distance (Radius)
- Hospital Name
- Speciality
- Insurer
You’ll also see a ‘GIPSA’ (public sector insurance companies) button on the extreme right which populates all network hospitals on the map when clicked.
View Claims
Track claim status including details under this tile. Select scheme, and enter policy number, Medi Assist ID (MA ID), or claim number.
Then hit ‘search’ and view patient name, date when claim was received, claim amount and type (reimbursement or cashless), status (denied or settled), and insurer name.
‘View’ drags you deeper into the specifics of the claim such as :
- Ailment details
- Deductions
- Bills
- History of claim settlement ( from submission to processing, and final settlement or denial)
- Bank details of the patient
- Date of admission and discharge
Your Profile
You can always visit this tile to alter personal details: your name, phone number, email ID, date of birth, profile picture, and address.
Health Bites
This tile houses visuals on health and wellness tips you can adopt or take lessons from. It imparts knowledge with visually appealing caricatures.
