Up to 5% of the nation's GDP is spent on traffic accidents each year. Notably, India accounted for around 6% of all traffic accidents worldwide even though it only has about 1% of the world's vehicles. In about 70% of the accidents, there were young Indians involved.

Even while accidents are unforeseen and unavoidable, you can take certain preventative measures in preparation. Ensure that you have accident insurance and are knowledgeable about how to proceed with first aid in such a tragic circumstance.

Important Steps to Take after an Accident or where first-aid is required:

Check to see if you have any significant injuries initially If so, request an ambulance and wait for medical assistance. If you are healthy enough to do so, you might think about assisting others. Your vehicle may sustain damage in a traffic accident. As well as coverage should always be purchased well in advance.

Here are the 5 things you should do following an accident:

Determine who is critically hurt Start by determining who has sustained significant wounds, such as bleeding from the head, nose, legs, or other organs. Generally speaking, victims who can speak or scream are in better condition than those who are unable to do either.

Check for Awareness Feel the person's pulse to see if they are breathing. Talk to the patient frequently to keep him awake until aid arrives. If they don’t respond, they may be unconscious.

Remove any restriction in the airway Look to see if the person's mouth or throat are obstructing the airway. If you locate something, you might want to try using your middle finger to clear the obstruction.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) A suggested first aid treatment for heart failure that works effectively. But make sure that you’re well trained in the method as performing such critical practices wrongly can make things worse.

Try to stop the bleeding Excessive bleeding from the lips or head may indicate a serious situation. Consider applying bandages to the wounds to halt the bleeding if you have a first aid kit with you. As an alternative to a traditional bandage, you can use clean clothing. Ensure that the person is lying comfortably. Keep their neck straight as you turn them to the side. Pouring water into the victim's mouth is not advised, especially if they are unconscious, it might lead to choking.
