Think before you eat!

Eating an entire packet of potato chips while watching TV once in a while or gorging on food during a party will probably not cause you any harm. However, when these actions become repetitive, they develop into habits. If you wish to break your unhealthy eating habits, you need to determine what they are first.

Here are some unhealthy eating habits that you should avoid:

  • Skipping breakfast

Skipping breakfast slows down your metabolism, reduces your energy, concentration, and productivity levels, and will lead to overeating later on in the day.

  • Not drinking enough water

Not staying hydrated throughout the day will leave you feeling drowsy and can contribute to headaches, difficulty in concentrating, and a worsened mood.

  • Not keeping a check on portions

You may not even realize how much you're eating if you do not portion your food. Poor portioning often leads to overeating.

  • Emotional eating

Next time you feel hungry and emotional at the same time, ask yourself, are you really hungry?

  • Eating Late at Night

Having an occasional late-night snack is fine, but if you cannot go to bed without having a plate of junk food, then you could be setting yourself up for weight gain.
